Winter Skincare Routine- Blogmas Day 2!

Welcome to Blogmas day 2! Today I’m going to be going through my everyday skincare routine for this winter.

Now, I have very problematic skin. I can go from oily, to dry, with constant acne, and redness, and sometimes scarring. This means that I have a range of things I use on my skin, but not always every one of these things every day. Some are for emergency skin days, some are for great skin days, it varies. But in general, my daily skincare routine comes from this selection!

The first thing that I use every day and swear by, is the Origins Zero Oil moisturizer. It is an amazing, weightless moisturizer that leaves no residue on your face. It’s perfect for any parts of your face and also great for when your face isn’t super dry. I use this twice a day after I wash my face and it has honestly done so much for my skin. If you struggle with oily skin, this is definitely the moisturizer to go for this winter. dsc06576

Another Origins product I’ve recently discovered and have been loving, is the Original Skin Renewal Serum. I’m not really sure how to explain it, but this product just smoothly goes over your face almost like a primer, and leaves your skin beautifully matte and healthy. It really helps get rid of the oily look of my skin and really wakes me up in the morning. I use this once a day, generally before my moisturizer. I’m not sure if that’s the right way to do it, but it works well for me. This would be great for any skin types and is going to be great for keeping the winter air from making my skin dimmer. dsc06582

The last Origins product I use religiously once a week, is the Out of Trouble face mask. This is an intensive mask that you leave on for 10 minutes and is definitely for oily, acne prone skin. It is the best face mask I have ever used in my life. Be sure to moisturize after, but this is definitely one to try. dsc06583

As my daily makeup remover, I use The Body Shop’s Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter. I’ve already done a review of this which you can check out here. dsc06597

Speaking of my makeup, I’m going to include my primer in this post. I think a primer in the winter is such an essential because it keeps your foundation and concealer from getting caked and cracked or running off when it snows. I use the Clinique Superprimer Universal Face Primer. I love Clinique, and this primer has not let me down! I would definitely recommend. I’ve found that my skin likes this a lot more than the Benefit Porefessional if you have had any issues with that. dsc06586

When I have days that my skin needs a scrub over a wash, I turn to the Alba Botanica Acne Dote, maximum strength, face and body scrub. That’s a mouthful to say, but I freaking love this. It looks disgusting, and smells kinda gross, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend using this every day, but this is the scrub to go for when you need it. I’ve used this for years and has always helped my skin with problem times.  dsc06591

I don’t use a scrub every day though, and you may notice that there is no soap here. I use a homemade, goat’s milk soap that we make at my house. It’s super good for your skin and really gently cleans. If you want me to do a post with the recipe for that, it’s super easy, and I’ll try to do it sometime in the future.

The toner  I use some days is the Thayers Alcohol-Free Toner, Cucumber Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera Formula. It is so good for your skin and so easy to apply. All I do is put some on a cotton ball and apply it all over my face. Again, I don’t use this on a daily basis, but for those times during the day when your face just feels a bit gross, this can totally freshen up your skin. dsc06600

And there you go, my winter skincare products! I hope you guys are having a wonderful festive December so far, and I’ll be back tomorrow!
