Welcome to Blogmas day 4! Today I have my favorite everyday winter makeup look. It’s so shimmery and simple, perfect for your daily fun.
The first few things to prep for the makeup are the Lush Lip Scrub in the flavor Mint Julips, the Burts Bees mango Lip Butter, the Clinique Superprimer, and the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion.
Then I use the Kevyn Aucoin Brow Gel Pencil to fill in my brows with tiny strokes while the primers all settle onto my skin.
For foundation I use the Nars All Day Luminous Weightless foundation. I just use two pumps of this and buff it into my skin with the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.
While that settles, I start on the eyes. I am using a gorgeous Too Faced eye shadow in the color Moon On Their Wings. It’s a sparkly, pinky-gold toned shadow that is so subtle and beautiful. I just sweep this all over my lid with a Mac domed eye shadow brush. I then blend the color Nooner from my Naked 3 pallet through my crease with a Mac 217 brush.
If you want to highlight on your brow bone, go for it, but I find that this look has a lot of shimmer already that doesn’t really show up on camera. I then use my Bobbi Brown Gel Liner with and angled liner brush and draw a fine line along my lash line. I love this gel liner, it just slightly softens the liner look, and it is perfect for wintertime.
I just follow that up with a black eyeliner pencil from the Body Shop on the bottom lash line.
Now it’s time to go back to the skin with the concealer. I put the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer on any spots and redness and under my eyes, and blend that in with the Real Techniques Setting Brush.
I set all this with the Body Shop All-In-One Face Base. This adds just a touch of extra coverage that is so amazing in the winter and looks really great in that bright winter light. It also stays on your face through a lot of weather, perfect for this time of year. It’s definitely a product I swear by.
I went back to the eyes at this point to do my mascara. For the top lashes I use the Urban Decay Perversion mascara. If you found that you weren’t a fan of the Too Faced Better than Sex mascara, this is a great alternative, and doesn’t clump in the cold winter weather. For the bottom lashes, I always use the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara, just nothing else does the trick.
Now for the blush and highlight. I use the Benefit Dandelion blush for a gorgeous winter pink that nothing else can get. And the Too Faced highlighter in the color Satin Sheets which is a lovely shimmering pink to compliment the blush. I use the Real Techniques Multi Task Brush for the blush, and just my fingers for the highlight.
Now, the most important part is the lips. For this looks, I didn’t choose a classic winter red, I went instead for a browny-pink color that I think is perfect for an everyday look. I find a red lip to be better for parties than a long day at school or work. This lipstick is the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in the color Bahama and it is quite possibly my favorite lipstick of the year.
And there you go! An every day winter look for all occasions. It is so shimmery and gorgeous and will last through all winter weather. Let me know what you thought and keep your eyes out for future makeup looks this Blogmas… Happy Blogmas day 4!
