It’s February and in Vermont that means the coldest part of winter. It’s dark and cold and during the week everything is so busy. Weekends are when I get a chance to unwind and relax. On the mornings when I can, I like to take the time to have a nice breakfast and make sure my skin and hair gets the treatment it needs.
To start, I try to make a nice, healthy breakfast. I’ve been loving oranges in the morning for a bit of vitamin C. Today I’ve gone for some yogurt and granola with a cup of tea and an orange. My favorite yogurt at the moment is the Stonyfield French Vanilla yogurt with some Ancient Grains granola.
I also like a nice cup of tea when I have the time. This tea is the Bigelow French Vanilla tea, a bit boring, but really nice. And let’s talk about this mug. It is from Uncommon Goods (which if you haven’t heard of, definitely check it out) and is possibly the greatest mug in the universe. It’s name is Norbert and it’s a massive unicorn mug.
After my breakfast, I go to take a shower. I use a homemade soap (which if you are interested in a recipe for, let me know), and then the OGX Tsubaki Blossom shampoo and Coconut conditioner. There’s nothing I really love about either of them, but they’re all I have at the moment and they leave my hair quite soft.
My hair savior in the winter is the OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Penetrating Oil. This stuff is absolutely incredible and so affordable. It leaves my hair incredibly soft and is really good for keeping your hair nourished and healthy.
As for skincare, in the mornings I cleanse with the First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser. My skin loves this and, since everyone has raved about this, I won’t say much except that this is definitely worth the hype.
I then use the Pixi Glow Tonic on a cotton pad all over my face, followed by the Origins Renewal Serum. These two things together are so good for acne-prone skin, redness, or acne scars.
After I brush my teeth I use the Lush Mint Julips lip scrub and the Burt’s Bees mango lip balm.
My hands are always really dry in the winter and this Origins Comfort Mood hand cream is so good. It does leave your hands a bit greasy, but it’s so moisturizing for cold, dry days that it’s worth it.
Lastly, my daily perfume is Tresor Midnight Rose. This has been a favorite for several years and I use it on a daily basis.
This post isn’t going to have my makeup, but there will be a post soon with a tutorial. I hope you’ve enjoyed this and it has given you some ideas for your own routine!
