It’s almost prom season, and yesterday a friend and I took a day to go shopping! We had absolutely no idea what we were looking for, what styles were in, or where to go, but we were excited to find the perfect outfits. I had such an amazing day, and ended up coming home with the perfect things!
My dress is from a shop called Old Gold in Burlington, Vermont. I absolutely love Old Gold, it’s one of those places with really unique and fun items, nothing generic! The dress I found is not what a lot of people are going for this season. Apparently sparkles, beading, and cut-outs are really in at the moment, as are dark dresses or bright patterns. I didn’t go for any of that because it’s not really my thing. Instead, I chose this one:
The photo doesn’t really do it justice, but it is a gorgeous light, peachy pink color, with an off-white lace bit at the top. The cut is so flattering with the full pleated skirt and the shape of the neckline. It does need to be hemmed a bit, I’m a size 6, and 5’6”, and it does drag quite a bit. But I am absolutely in love with this, it’s so simple and beautiful and perfect for spring.
I then went to a jewelry store called Zinnia’s and asked the woman at the counter for some help finding matching earrings. She helped me find the perfect pair! They’re lovely, dangly earrings with a gold setting and light pink flowers. At the center of the flowers are some gorgeous stones that shift colors depending on the light. They match the dress perfectly.
I then stopped into Mac and picked out a few little bits to top off the outfit. I got the A56 lashes, which are really light and fluttery fake lashes. I think they’ll be really lovely with a light, shimmery, pinky-gold smoky eye.
I also got a lipstick from Mac. It’s in the color Faux and it has a satin finish. It’s a lovely deep, pink nude color that will work really well with everything else I got!
I haven’t gotten shoes yet, but I’ll update this post when I do! I’m thinking some gold heels… we’ll see! I’m so happy with everything I got, I absolutely love it all, and now I have to start trying out some makeup looks, but I’ll do a tutorial when I decide on one!
