Book Review- Warren the 13th and the Whispering Woods by Tania Del Rio and Will Staehle

It’s not very often that I find great children’s books, but this one I just had to do a post about. Warren the 13th and the Whispering Woods is an illustrated middle grade fiction book following the young Warren on his adventures with his walking hotel. This is the sequel to another book called Warren the 13th and the All-Seeing Eye. I have not read that one, but you really don’t need to in order to understand this one.

Warren in the youngest hotel manager at his unique, wandering hotel. He takes great pride in being a manager, just like his father before him. HIs best friend is a young perfumier-in-training and hopes to be an incredible witch capturer like her mother. The story begins when the hotel trips and everything goes downhill from there!

There are witches, sap-squaches, mimics, and talking trees. There is adventure and laughter and is just a wonderful book. It is lighthearted and has a perfect simplicity that is hard to come by.

I would recommend this book from ages 8 and up (I’m 18 and loved it, so don’t worry!). It is a really good story for someone who struggles or doesn’t like to read. It is a whimsical fantasy adventure story and a quick read. It comes out on March 21st, and I would highly recommend. DSC07691

I read this book as an Advanced Reader Copy which is the pre-publication edition of a book sent out by publishers for review and publicity. The reviews I leave here are my honest opinions of the books I’ve been reading and have really enjoyed. I’m not payed to say any of this, I just liked the books! If you liked the review, let me know! If you have any particular requests for genres, authors, or titles, I’d be happy to oblige. Keep your eyes open for more reviews like this coming soon, there are some great books coming out in the next few months!
