The other day I took my best friend out for a birthday dinner at A Single Pebble in Burlington, Vermont. We’ve both been there before, but never together and never on our own. It was the restaurant’s 15th anniversary so it was packed and they weren’t doing any takeout. It’s by far the best Chinese food anywhere in Vermont.
We both decided to dress up and feel amazing and make it a special night out.
Not the best quality (or the most flattering) pictures, I know, but it was just nice to get out of our tiny, rural town and have a great night. I curled my hair using the Lee Stafford Chopstick Styler which I am absolutely loving. This was my first attempt at using it on my short, very thick hair, so it’s not the best… In terms of makeup I had on my Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation, Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, The Body Shop All-In-One Face Base, the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter in Champagne Pop, Nars blush in the color Deep Throat, Mac Woodwinked eyeshadow with Charcoal Brown blended through the crease, Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner, the Ardell Demi Wispies for false lashes, Urban Decay Perversion mascara, and a Mac lipstick in the color Faux.
In terms of outfit, I had my Topshop pajama-style hummingbird shirt, black jeans, and some black heeled booties. (I think my friend said that her top was from Forever 21 if you care!) It makes such a difference to be dressed in clothes you love that make you feel amazing. We had such a fun night, felt so good, and ate the best meal.
For the meal, we started with the vegetable red oil dumplings. They were absolutely incredible- the sauce was amazing. We then got the Sweet and Pungent Walnuts and the Buddha’s Sesame Beef. I’m vegetarian, so walnuts and seitan are perfect, especially with the flavorful sauces and the veggies mixed in.
Our waiters were excellent, the atmosphere was friendly and fun, and it was just one of the best nights out I’ve had in a long time. If you haven’t been here before, I would definitely recommend!
