I recently returned from a trip to London (which was amazing) and thought I’d share with you a few of the makeup bits I picked up on my travels!
The first things I was so excited to pick up were some of Tanya Burr’s makeup items. I walked into Superdrug and immediately wanted EVERYTHING, but I eventually narrowed it down to: the Perfect Brows Kit, the Peachy Glow cheek palette, a lipgloss in the color Lunch Date, and two lipsticks: one in Pink Cocoa and one in Bear Hug.
While I was in Superdrug, I picked up the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer which every UK beauty blogger raves about. Since we can’t get it in the US (as far as I know) I decided to try it out. I picked the lightest color because I am super pale, and I’m hoping it lives up to the hype!
I also went to Boots to see what they had to offer and found a few things. The first is a gorgeous Bourjois blush in the color Sandalwood. I absolutely fell in love with this color and don’t have anything like it in my makeup collection. It’s a dark, orangey brown color- almost like a bronzer- but with a bit of lighter color running through it. I have tried this, and even with my super pale skin it is absolutely beautiful.
Also at Boots I picked up two Real Techniques brushes (number 100 and number 300). I wanted a new powder brush because the one I have now is crap and the blush brush was just too beautiful to handle. Also, with my tiny face, the size and shape of the 300 brush is perfect.
The last few makeup items I got were from the airport. I may have gotten a bit carried away, but I just couldn’t help myself and love it all.
I discovered the brand ‘The Balm Cosmetics’ (their website is thebalm.com by the way) and my mom and I were loving their product names and packaging. I grabbed their powder foundation called Photobalm in the color ‘light’ and their anti-shine translucent powder. The packaging is so cool and I’ve been wanting a powder foundation for the summer, so this was a no-brainer. I really have no justification for the setting powder, I just wanted to try it out…
Also from the airport I picked up the Lancome ‘Grandiose’ mascara which I have wanted for such a long time, but was HALF PRICE in Duty Free, so I had to have it.
And lastly, from the Burberry counter, I picked up the most beautiful eye shadow stick ever. It’s one of their Eye Color Contour pens in the color 106 Pale Copper. It is absolutely stunning. I swatched it on my hand at the counter and, 20 hours of planes, cars, airport chaos, and sleep later, it was still there. I was so impressed and cannot wait to wear this!
Well, there it is. I am so happy with everything I got, even if my bank account is not. Keep an eye out for a few more hauls in the next few days, as well as the photos from my trip which I will be posting soon! Once we get into the swing of summer, I may do a makeup look with these items or a few reviews, so let me know what you’d be interested in hearing about!
